On 14th Jan 2010, a seminar was organised by Flolklore research academic, janwadi Lekhak sang & Joint Effort- a social & eco-friendly group of Amritsar at Virsa Vihar Hall- Amritsar
From the Pakistan side, Salman Rashid, a famous travel-writer of Pakistan , Shabnam Rashid ,Program coordinator (human rights ) & for South Asia Partnership Pakistan & Mohammad Tahseen- was guest & speakers on this seminar.
Talwinder Singh, President-Janwadi Lekhak sang, welcomed the guest & participant by elaborating the topic of seminar, later he bring the importance of Right To Information in democracy.
Dr shyam sunder deepti, convenor of Joint Effort started his speech by reading a translated (in Punjabi ) poem from Time of India , which published few days back on " AmAn Ki Asha"- Destination Peace , a joint Track 2 in the diplomatic and cultural relations by The Times of India and the Jang Group.
later he highlighted with statistical data on , how rising of defense budget is compressing education & health programs, leading to choking of development in Indo-Pak. He said in a categorically that if even a single person on earth is hungry, we can't think of peace
Mr. Ramesh Yadav, President-Flolklore research academic. elucidate on, how in last 15years the NGOs is playing its role in bringing Indo-Pak relationship at peace, even in time of hostility of peace.
Mohammad Tahseen- Executive Director for South Asia Partnership Pakistan, reveal the importance of food reserves/security & inequality within the borders bring unrest for borders for central Asia, also he said NGOs can play a formative role in "people to people issues", specially such as of "12-year-old Pakistani boy Ateeque Khan"
Prof. Parminder Singh from GND University , lecture on historical background of Indo-PaK a, giving a good understanding towards , how people at grass root have common background in there sufferings from the imperialist setup.
Mr.Sushobhit Singh Kamboj, addressed by introducing his uncle ( father's brother) to house, who was born & had his early education at west Punjab ( now in Pakistan ) ,he sheared his global travel experience and meaning of 'borders' in the present political reference. he figured the carbon credit business can create large business opportunity for trading & specifically to agriculture/ farm products, along with student education programs based on scholarship programs on both side east/west Punjab for central Asia by reducing energy costs , he urged the role of NGOs & academics to look into carbon credit business becoming a tool to "border free" for community, not just limited to "commodity items".
Shabnam Rashid, spotlighted women & NGOs working with issues of women as primal, in shaping the relationship of Indo-Pak.
